After multiple crews have been out working on the river the conditions are not safe for all levels of racing. I’ve been keeping in touch with local DNR and even though they granted our permit they said that the final call would come down to if I deem it safe for all paddlers\, and I cannot. I’ll continue to reach out to all our sponsors and make proper arrangements. Day of registration opens at 4:00pm.Paddler order will be determined by pre-registration (day of registration participants will automatically be put last). Paddlers will be sent off every 5 seconds\, paddle down to Steckert Bridge and perform a clock wise buoy turn and continue paddling back up river to Wallace Park.  \n\n\n\nSaturday\, May 9th  \n\n\n\nC2 Race Starts at 11am. Day of registration will open at 9:30am.  Race Briefing at 10:40!Heats will be determined following pre-registration and day of registration (day of registration participants will automatically be put in the last heat).  We WILL be doing our normal run start with one paddler starting across the road and over the hill while the other paddler waits with boat on the river edge.   \n\n\n\nPaddlers will paddle down to Deerheart Valley Rd and perform a clockwise buoy turn and paddle back up river to Wallace Park. Amateur Class (E2) will paddle down to Steckert Bridge\, perform a clockwise buoy turn and paddle back up river to Wallace Park. ​Following the C2 race there will be a award ceremony under the pavilion at Wallace Park​Directions to race start: From South: I-75 North\, Exit 239\, Right onto M-18/E Michigan Hwy3 miles-Park is located on the left – just past the Catholic ChurchFrom North:I-75 South\, Exit 244\,Left onto W. (Start every 2 minutes)  \n\n\n\nSeeding: Two Heats C2 and Two Heats C1. Based on paddle ability and past results. Make sure you are upstream of the start prior to 10:00 am.  \n\n\n\nMCRA: This is a non-points MCRA fun canoe race. Paddles will be timed and have official results.  \n\n\n\nCourse: \n\n\n\nOption 1: (Low Water) Put in at Penrods and paddle upstream just past Maple St Bridge. By you seeding number\, line up with evens on the left and odds on the right facing downstream. \, Paddlers will canoe downstream and finish at Burtons Landing Dr. (Just upstream of the Burton’s Landing). This means you will need to spot a vehicle  \n\n\n\nOption 2: Put in at Penrods and paddle upstream just past Maple St Bridge. By you seeding number\, line up with evens on the left and odds on the right facing downstream. Paddlers will canoe downstream and go into “Spider Cut.” Paddle upstream coming out from the cut and paddle back to Penrods finishing at the bridge. AKA – Old Spring Fling Course.  \n\n\n\nSpectators: Please watch from Maple St. Bridge or Penrod’s Landing. Do not use the Wakley or Carlisle Canoe Livery boardwalk or property to view.  \n\n\n\nPost-Race (11:30): We will have Mac n’ Cheese and chips for racers at Penrods following the race. We also have several raffle prizes to hand out. Each paddler will get one entry for a chance to win. \n\n\n\nSee everyone on Saturday!
