ROSCOMMON CANOE CLASSIC

C2 and C1 Races

Roscommon, Michigan

May 3-4, 2008

Schedule of Events

  • Saturday - The C-2 Race is starting in Wallace Park
  • THOU SHALT NOT PARK IN THINE CHURCH PARKING LOT!!!
    YOU CAN PARK AT HIAWATHA CANOE LIVERY OR ALONG THE STREET.
  • Registration starts at 10:00 am and the race will begin at 12:00 noon.
  • There will be two heats like last year, heat will be decided.
    (Don't worry about the heat your in, IT IS THE SAME RACE:
    The second heat will start six minutes after the first heat.
  • The Expert 1 race course is the exact same as last year:
    Run to the river
    Get in boat
    Paddle to Deerhart Valley Road
    Clockwise turn around buoy
    Paddle Back up into town.
  • Expert 2 heat will go after the Expert 1 heats
    They paddle just below Steckhart and make a clockwise turn, going back to town.
  • Race will take about 1:20 to 1:50 hours
  • AFTERWARDS THERE WILL BE AWARDS AND FOOD!!!

  • Later that night at 7:00 pm there is going to be a fiesta at Ryan McClure's house.
    EVERYONE IS INVITED!!!
    It will go until you feel like leaving. Which could be at three in the morning!
    There will be some hor de voures and drinks. But I still recommend a BYO.
    At the race there will be directions how to get to my house.
    There is going to be a bon fire and games:
    Ping Ping
    Pool
    Bad mitten
    Darts
    etc...

  • Sunday - C1 Race starts at 10 a.m.
  • THOU SHALT NOT PARK IN THINE CHURCH PARKING LOT!!!
    YOU CAN PARK AT HIAWATHA CANOE LIVERY OR ALONG THE STREET.
  • There is an open registration starting at whatever time you want.
  • What place you sign up in decides where you start in the heat.
    There will be fifteen second intervals between each racer.
  • Racers will start in town.
    Paddle to just below Steckhart and make a clockwise turn.
    Then paddle back into town.
  • Awards will be after and before the race there will be coffee and food.

    Paddle Brave Livery on the South Branch is open for camping race weekend.
